Digital-ruble readiness: four checks for businesses

A short sequence for an initial applicability assessment and a productive conversation with your bank.

1. Identify the sales model

Document whether the organisation supplies goods or services to individuals for personal needs. The acceptance duty does not automatically extend to entities serving legal persons exclusively.

2. Check financial thresholds

Compare prior-year revenue with the thresholds for the relevant implementation stage. Review individual outlets separately where statutory exemptions may apply.

3. Review banking agreements

For the 2026 stage, both current service and the electronic-payment acceptance agreement with the relevant bank at the statutory reference date matter.

4. Agree on a technical plan

Ask the bank about opening the digital-ruble account, POS and checkout software readiness, online acceptance, testing, support, and connection dates.
